8. Grade 5 Terry Fox Helpers!
You are not done yet! I need a few helpers to meet with me at 10:40 to take down posters, bulletin boards and displays that were up for Terry Fox.
There will be a meeting next week for any helpers that want to take part in the ‘wrap up’ assembly.

9. Junior Boys Basketball
Mrs. Verstegen and Ms. McCartney would like to thank all those who came out to tryout for basketball. A list will be sent out to your teachers with the first round cuts.
There will be a junior boys basketball tryout for those who made the first round. Please head down to the gym at 10:50 am ready to play.

10. Junior Girls Basketball
There will be a very important junior girls basketball tryout today at 2nd break! Eat quickly and be at the gym, ready to play, at 1:10pm. See you there!

11. Second Recess Wellness Break
Grades 5 to 8 students are welcome to come to the library for 2nd recess to have some QUIET down time.
The Wellness Break will allow you to settle into a quiet corner in the library to read a book, do some drawing or some quiet, independent activity.
No talking, chatting, doing homework, or technology allowed.

12. TGIF Youth Dances Are Back!
The next TGIF Youth Dance is THIS Friday, October 12th!
This year’s dances are all new and at a
NEW LOCATION:
The Stars Arena.
This is an event just for grades 5 to 8, and the fun starts at 7:00PM and ends at 9:00PM at the Stars Arena.
Tickets are $8 each and can be purchased at the Youth Centre, Chamber, Rec Plex, and online at
wasagabeach.com/Youth-Centre.

13. Cross country running
The cross country running team competed at Blueberry trails yesterday. Our team displayed great sportsmanship and competitive spirit. Worsley had a record number of runners, twenty, qualify for the County Championships next Tuesday at Mt. St. Louis. Thank you to all runners who participated yesterday, competed and cheered their teammates on. The cross country coaching staff would like to thank Mrs. Ottewell and Mr. Bax for their continued support of extracurricular activities and our office administrators for assisting with the forms and numerous phone calls. We would also like to thank Mrs Cavill, Mrs. Hesselink, Mr. Taylor and Mr. Fox for all their support and efforts in making sure the race ran smoothly and safely yesterday. Thanks for a great season Worsley. For those runners who have qualified for the county race there will be a short meeting in the LC at 10:40.
