1 13th of June Mentoring, MOS, Tackling
By Jack Fahey-Gilmour

2 MOS Reports All mentors are required to complete a MOS report
If you do not have access to this you need to see me post training or me Standard expected – example It is the umpires responsibility to check and review their feedback to improve Several times I have asked for something to be done in the feedback and it has not occurred – likely umps have not read Ben Chapman example Mentors if you are unsure how to write you can discuss with me – it is highly important that we get this right as I use it as a snapshot for the umpire + you are paid to do it…

3 Mentor – Manager – Coach Interaction
Prior to the game Shake hands Key questions to ask? During the game Interaction should be with the manager What about the coach who is on the ground? Mentors job is to protect the umpire.

4 Modified Tackling Year 3 Year 4/5 Year 6
Make sure we distinguish intent vs no intent when we watch the player going to ground. If player had intent to bring to ground – FK, if not play on. Make sure we are strong on sling tackles regardless of intent!
