1 The Broad Way And The Narrow Way
Matt 7:13-14

2 There Are Two Gates The Wide Gate The Narrow Gate
This “gate” represents the beginning to the “way” that leads to destruction It is described as “wide” The Narrow Gate This “gate” represents the beginning, or starting point, to the “way” that leads to life Why is it “narrow”? These two “gates” are only the starting points

3 There Are Two Ways The Broad Way The Constricted Way
The way that leads to destruction is broad because it allows: Many people love this path The Constricted Way Translated “narrow is the way” (KJV), or “difficult is the way” (NKJV) The picture is one of a narrow and difficult path between two cliffs

4 There Are Two Ways The Constricted Way
Translated “narrow is the way” (KJV), or “difficult is the way” (NKJV) The picture is one of a narrow and difficult path between two cliffs The way that leads to life is “difficult” because it requires: Because of its difficulty, many choose not to travel its path As Jesus describes the two gates and the two ways, He also reminds us that... No need for reformation or changes in one’s lifestyle Any behavior one desires

5 There Are Two Groups The Many The Few
“…there are many who enter through it” (Matt. 7:13) We have seen reasons why this is so: This is the way people travel by default; unless they are actively seeking the narrow path, this is the one they will travel The Few “…there are few who find it” (Matt. 7:14) As proven true so often in the past, only few will be saved That it must be “found” suggests effort must extended

6 There Are Two Groups The Many The Few
“…there are few who find it” (Matt. 7:14) As proven true so often in the past, only few will be saved That it must be “found” suggests effort must extended Finally, we note that Jesus tells us that...

7 There Are Two Destinations
Destruction “...the way is broad that leads to destruction” Paul wrote of the “everlasting destruction” that is to come - 2 Thess 1:7-9 John described it as “a lake of fire” (Rev. 20:15; 21:8) A most sobering thought are these words of Jesus: “...there are many who enter through it.” Life “...the way is narrow that leads to life”

8 There Are Two Destinations
Destruction Life “...the way is narrow that leads to life” This “life” is the “everlasting life” received at the judgment - Matt. 25:46 It is the “gift of God”, given at the end - Rom. 6:22-23 Another sobering thought are these words about the way that leads to this life: “...there are few who find it.”

9 God has done His part. Have you done yours?
God's Plan of Salvation GOD'S PART The great love of God for man (Jn 3:16) He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Saviour (Lk 19:10) Sent the Holy Spirit as a guide (Jn 16:13) Gave the Gospel as "the power" unto salvation (Rom 1:16) Provided atonement by the blood of Christ (Rom 5:9) MAN'S PART Hear the Gospel (Rom 10:17, Jn 8:32) Believe the Gospel (Heb 11:6, Jn 20:31) Repent of past sins (Lk 13:3, Acts 17:30) Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Rom 10:10, Matt 10:32) Be Baptized (Gal 3:27, Mk 16:16, Acts 2:38) Be faithful unto death (Rev 2:10) God has done His part. Have you done yours?
