The main challenges in the national perinatal medicine that the organisation is working on:
To update the existing national algorhythms for good clinical practice in neonatology
To contribute to the qualification and professional education of the neonatologists and neonatal nurses in Bulgaria
To take part in the national discussions (workshops) on the problems of the pediatric healthcare in Bulgaria
To participate in the European project on: European Standards of Care for Newborn Infants

Expectations from UENPS in 2018
To improve the collaboration with national societies by organizing educational courses and seminars for continuous professional qualification of the neonatologists and perinatal care providers.
To promote visiting professorships to leading European lecturers who can take part in the national educational courses, seminars and workshops. on certain topics of their expertize.
To inform and involve the members from the national societies to participate in multi-centric clinical trials and scientific projects.
