ELA Learning targets – 7th
ELAGSE7SL1: Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher- led) with diverse partners on grade 7 topics, texts, and issues, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly. ELAGSE6SL1a. Come to discussions prepared, having read or studied required material; explicitly draw on that preparation by referring to evidence on the topic, text, or issue to probe and reflect on ideas under discussion. ELAGSE7SL4: Present claims and findings, sequencing ideas logically and using pertinent descriptions, facts, and details to accentuate main ideas or themes; use appropriate eye contact, adequate volume, and clear pronunciation. ELAGSE7W1: Write arguments to support claims with clear reasons and relevant evidence. ELAGSE7W1a. Introduce claim(s), acknowledge alternate or opposing claims, and organize the reasons and evidence logically.

Daily Activities Monday, March 4 Tuesday, March 5
I-Ready Intervention day – reteaching small group. Tuesday, March 5 Formative: continued from Friday: ELA vocabulary, main idea, topic, topic sentence, supporting details; reading passages. Tuesday homework: page , prefixes, Wednesday/Thursday: work on interactive argumentative template, identifying parts of the argument, reasons and supports. Friday: Work to be continued practice with main idea and details for sub.

Cell Phones in School Students continue working on argumentative writing. Presented with list of topics, students will decide on the “class” topic, break into 2 groups and begin their investigations. Students will individually write a paragraph based on their side of the argument, using researched information to support their argument. Each group will create a powerpoint or chosen presentation format in preparation for their debate!

Essential Question: How can you use the order of operations to evaluate algebraic expressions? How can I use substitution to solve expressions? I can read, write, and evaluate algebraic expressions in real world problems I can identify equivalent expressions an justify my reasoning I can identify parts of an expression using mathematical terminology and justify my reasoning

I can do That! Monday and Tuesday will be switched. Students who complete assessment will go on I-Ready to work on lessons. Monday: I-ready intervention day: small group intervention, order of operations, exponents, Tuesday – Continued work on quiz from Friday: Materials – Quiz, I-Ready, Gomath book. Tuesday – I-Ready Wednesday –, Classwork, continuing with 272, 273, 274 – evaluating real world expressions. HW to be determined. Thursday: continued practice with substitution, homework from gomath, Friday: continued practice with substitution and order of operations with sub.,
