4. Data Requirements to Satisfy UNC Obligations
GTs require sufficient data to meet Code, licence & legislative obligations
The current level of data set out in UNC is sufficient for balancing & settlement purposes

The level of accuracy of the data determines the quality of the processes and the quality of the data held on the Supply Point Register
Implementation of Smart meters in itself does not need to change these UNC obligations – but industry may desire change
Data from Smart meters should improve the operation of these processes
Industry desire to examine the merits of changing the ‘close out’ period?
A balance is needed to ensure the accuracy & quality of the data

General
The current level of data set out in UNC is sufficient

6. Requirements in a SMART World
Difficult to pre-judge when it is still largely an ‘unknown’
Need to understand the quality & quantity of data required to optimise industry processes
GT requirements will be dictated by the regime but as a minimum GTs will still require accurate data (for Network operation & UNC obligations), received in a timely fashion & in a controlled environment, for example
Access to data held on the Supply Point Register for Operational purposes
Energy for transportation invoices & settlement. Frequency to be determined during SMIP & Nexus
Site level data for certain sites for day to day Network activities (daily/hourly site consumption data) (e.g. Emergencies and Interruption management)
Meter asset data
Data to derive site AQ, SOQ & SHQ (level depending on site), EUC (depending on regime)
Data to share out ‘un-allocated energy’
Potential for increased reads for demand modelling processes
