Warm up questions… 1. Based on the reading on page 456 in the literature text, Hawthorne is known to leave some “ambiguity” to his story. What parts of the story are purposefully ambiguous, and what might be the reason for that? 2. Write down one question that you have about this story (either something you are confused about or something that is worth discussing). 3. What is one possible theme for this story? Find a quote from the story that supports this theme.
