School counseling consists of four components: counseling, guidance, advocacy, and management.

Our first task is to omit any activities that we are currently doing, but don’t need to continue next year.
Please look at each of your activity charts. You’ll see that we have already circled the activities that do NOT support one or more of our goals for next year. The question is, “why are we doing these activities?” If there is no compelling reason for doing the activity, then we should omit it to make additional time for other activities.

Our second task is to add new activities as needed. This would be necessary if we have any goals that are not being adequately addressed by our current activities.
Please look at our Goals Chart. You will see that we have already circled the goals for which we feel there are insufficient activities to help students reach the goal. At today’s meeting, we’ll brainstorm different activities that we could begin implementing to help students reach those targeted goals.
