20/11/15 – 02/12/15 Fortnightly homework Year 5 Practice your multiplication/division facts daily. Complete 3 grids throughout the fortnight as well! Can you complete each box in under 3 minutes? Try to read a wide range of materials such as information books, poems, stories, reports, recipes, instructions etc. Record your reading in your diary everyday. Your spellings for this fortnight are to be learnt for a test the week beginning Monday 30th November 2015. You can choose to learn 6, 12 or all of them. You can learn them by completing four of the spelling activities. This week we will be focussing on space vocabulary. So far, 24 astronauts have visited the Moon. Find out their names, download pictures and record interesting facts about them. Using non-fiction books and online research, find out the names of some of the best known star constellations. On a clear night, try to identify them. Draw diagrams of those you have spotted. Do you think the names they have been given suit them? Design your own planet thinking about how it looks, its size, what it is made of, whether there are signs of life and so on. Draw it and label or annotate it with all the details.
