Frederick Douglass ( ) said, “If there is no struggle, there is no progress.” How can you interpret this quote in your own words and how can you explain its relevance today? *Go to your seat assignments. Objective: Students will be able to identify class rules, procedures, and goals for success this spring semester. Agenda A.) Do Now: Turn and talk with your tablemates. Captains will prepare to share their tablemates’ answers with the whole class. B.) Discuss/Share: Captains will share Do Now answers. C.) Mini-Lesson: -Introduce the syllabus and class expectations. -Read and annotate the College Board and Huffington Post handouts on planning for spring semester of 11th grade. D.) Q & A/Reflections: Do you have any questions or concerns about the class rules, requirements, expectations and college preparation needed to make progress this semester?
