4 Terminology EGR frame methodology
Statistical activity: the chain of actions taken by a NSI in order to produce a collection of data items Frame: the tool/resource that provides the individuals for the population (= EGR) Frame population: the population built from a FRAME ( = best possible picture of target population). 7 Target and frame population IFATS for year T (1)
Target population IFATS: EU enterprises controlled by foreign institutional units Target population IFATS = target sub population of SBS SBS needs survey population at the end of year T Business register provides at the end of year T a SBS frame population with quality issues: Part of the provided enterprises are not active in year T Some (new) enterprises are missing Some enterprises are wrongly classified 25-April-2012 ESSnet on consistency: Dublin workshop on frame populations

8 Target and frame population IFATS for year T (2)
SBS corrects during the survey period for the quality failures with or without a feedback flow to the Business register SBS finalises the production process for year T at T+ n months and publishes (~) the target population IFATS attaches the country of the UCI using the business register, making corrections with or without a feedback flow to the Business register Business registers process the feedback in their `live´ register, generally without correcting the frame provided at the end of year T 25-April-2012 ESSnet on consistency: Dublin workshop on frame populations
