2 Figure 1 Establishment of a clinical study fund. A broad-based committee can be assembled to discuss the feasibility of establishing a clinical study fund via infusion of pharmaceutical and insurer support. This fund could interface, in terms of its administration with the FNIH, but given that FNIH is not under the direct auspices of the NIH, other measures may need to be formulated to dispense such a fund. It is anticipated that such a fund, if robust enough, can help buttress R and K grants that involve clinical studies and may provide a vent to help support fundamental health-related research.
