What are we learning?
Celebrations this month
We collected and counted our change that was donated to the Harvey classroom and we were so excited to see that our class alone raised $177.74! We are still waiting on several classrooms to finish counting their jars so that we can have a total. Thank you to everyone who donated!
In math we practiced writing large numbers in word form, expanded form, and how to compare each number. Next week we will be focusing on rounding large numbers.
In Science we will begin our unit on where we are in the universe and then honing in on California specifically.
The students have set up their reader’s and writer’s notebooks and are having fun thinking about their reading as well as writing.
I am very pleased to have offered everyone their first, second, or third choice in jobs. The students were very excited and eager to get to work right away!
We are reading Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo. If you would like to follow along and read with us to discuss it with your child, please let me know so I can send a book home!
