If the barometer tells us that air is dropping , we know a low pressure is heading our way .
Low pressure air masses bring clouds , rain or snow sometimes .
If the barometer tells us that the air pressure is high you know high pressure air masses are heading towards us.
High pressure air masses usually bring clear sky.

6. Weather Affects Non-Living Things
When winter arrives the water maybe freeze and cracks of pieces of rocks
The way rocks and soil move from place to another is called erosion.
Some times a layer of snow slides down the mountain side to cause a avalanche .
Flowing water In rivers slowly erodes the river banks .

7. Weather Affects Living Things
Plant Adaptations
The plants stop growing when winter arrives.
Other plants grow for more then a year , but many dormant in the winter.
Animal Adaptations
Some animals migrate to a warm spot to stay for in the winter .
Some animals eat a lot then go to sleep all winter that is called hibernating.
Some animals change colors during the different season.

8. Extreme Weather - Tornadoes
Tornadoes can damage buildings , houses ,crops and land .
Tornadoes are not to big ,so the damage is limited to a small area .
Tornadoes can at least be 500 km /h .
A tornado is a funnel – shaped storm that spins very quickly
