The Great Idea: An Overview of the Facts
Stated with an ad in the paper from two guys looking for ideas for their show Ended up on a dairy farm in Bethel, New York due to complications with having it in Woodstock, New York Tickets were sold, but because of a lack of security people made their way easily into the concert before hand The whole thruway in New York turned into a parking lot because of population over load On paper it looked like a mess

The Audience The audience who was in attendance was mostly kids who were trying to escape their thoughts of war The audience is mostly seen today as the 60’s counter culture, commonly called hippies Among the hippies in the crowd were also political radicals and drug dealers It was a peaceful crowd The crowd sensed feelings of connection and freedom

Symbolically seen as: Freedom Representation of counter culture Peaceful Questioning authority Musically: Largest live audience to it’s date First time music genres really integrated for a concert Pushed the profitability of music
