to ensure the development of healthcare provider-led networks to promote high-quality education and training that is responsive to the changing needs of patients and local communities to allocate and account for NHS education and training resources to absorb some of the responsibilities of SHAs in relation to strategic workforce planning and oversight of education and training to take over some functions that are currently carried out by the workforce directorate and nursing and medical directorates of the Department of Health to take over some of the duties of Medical Education England and the Professional Advisory Boards that advise the DH.
