1 Test Your Memory! Opening
Put each picture in your mind, and it will remind you of each commandment.

2 (God should always be Number One)
1st – other gods 1. “You shall have no other gods before Me” WHAT YOU MIGHT SAY: That means that we should love God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength. The Bible tells us that no one has kept this commandment (see Psalm 14:2-3). (God should always be Number One)

3 (Don’t bow to anything but God)
2nd – idols 2. “You shall not make for yourself any idols” (Don’t bow to anything but God) WHAT YOU MIGHT SAY: You can make an “idol” with your hands (like a statue), or with your imagination. Sometimes people make up an imaginary “god” in their minds. They say things like, “My God would never create Hell.” When people say things like that you can tell that their “god” is not the God of the Bible... it’s a “god” they created in their imagination – an idol.

4 (Don’t use your lips to dishonor God)
3rd – God’s Name 3. “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain” WHAT YOU MIGHT SAY: If you've ever used the name "God," "Jesus," or "Christ" as a curse word, what you've done is called "blasphemy." In Leviticus 24:16 God tells us what a serious sin blasphemy is. (Don’t use your lips to dishonor God)

5 (Don’t neglect the things of God)
4th – sabbath 4. “Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy” (Don’t neglect the things of God) WHAT YOU MIGHT SAY: God asks us to set aside one day each week especially for Him. Going to church is one way that we grow in Jesus to learn more about Him. Have you ever been grumpy about going to Church? Have you ever wished you didn’t have to go? Do you think you have broken this commandment?

6 (It’s a “5” shaped like a Dad and Mom)
5th – parents 5. “Honor your Father and your Mother WHAT YOU MIGHT SAY: What does it mean to honor your parents? One part of “honoring” them means that you must obey them. Do you realize that if you had only disobeyed your parents one time then you have broken this commandment? If you have broken this commandment, what does James 2:10 say about the other commandments? (It’s a “5” shaped like a Dad and Mom)

7 (It’s a bomb shaped like a “6”)
6th – murder 6. “You shall not murder” (It’s a bomb shaped like a “6”) WHAT YOU MIGHT SAY: Have you ever broken this commandment? In 1 John 3:15 the Bible says that hatred in your heart is the same as murder in God’s eyes. Have you ever hated anyone? If so, then you have broken this commandment.

8 (Adultery leaves a heart broken)
7th – adultery 7. “You shall not commit adultery” (Adultery leaves a heart broken) WHAT YOU MIGHT SAY: When two people get married, God expects them to be faithful to each other. When married people aren’t faithful, that’s called adultery. You’ll learn more about this commandment when you grow up. Right now, it’s enough to know that adultery breaks people’s hearts.

9 (The thief’s mask looks like an “8”)
8th – theft 8. “You shall not steal” (The thief’s mask looks like an “8”) WHAT YOU MIGHT SAY: Have you ever stolen anything? Maybe you don’t think it was too bad, because you only took something small (like a piece of candy, or a dollar from Mom’s purse). But the truth is that if you’ve ever stolen anything – no matter how small – then you are a thief. Stealing is a serious sin, see what God says about thieves in1 Corinthians 6:10

10 (This number “9” is “lying” down)
9th – lies 9. “You shall not lie” WHAT YOU MIGHT SAY: Have you ever told a lie? Telling just one lie, according to God's standards, makes you a "liar." God always tells the truth – He cannot lie. Read what He says about liars in Revelation 21:8. How do you feel about what He says there? (This number “9” is “lying” down)

11 (The door and ring together look like a “10”)
10th – coveting 10. “You shall not covet” WHAT YOU MIGHT SAY: “Covet” means to look at what someone else has and want it for ourselves. Have you ever wished you had someone else’s toys, or clothes, or games? If you’ve ever wanted things that belong to someone else – you’ve broken this commandment. (The door and ring together look like a “10”)

13 How many did you get right?
Results How many did you get right? Five? You did O.K.... But you need to try again. Six? You did well. Seven? Good! Eight? VERY GOOD! Nine? WONDERFUL! Ten? You’re a genius!!

14 Why do you think God gave us the Ten Commandments?
Gospel 1 Why do you think God gave us the Ten Commandments?

15 Gospel 2 As a way to get to Heaven. As a mirror to look at.

16 If you chose “A” you’re wrong.
Gospel 3 As a way to get to Heaven. As a mirror to look at. If you chose “A” you’re wrong.

17 Gospel 4 As a mirror to look at.

18 Gospel 5 In the same way, we don't realize what a bad state we are in until we look into the "mirror" of the Ten Commandments.

19 Gospel 6 Do you remember what #9 is? What is it? Have you ever lied?
What about #5? Have you always obeyed your parents? What about #6? Have you ever hated someone? Have you always loved God? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you been greedy?

20 Gospel 7 Can you see the Ten Commandments are like the mirror -- they show us how bad we are, and how we need to be clean before the Day of Judgment. That is the Day God will punish people who have broken the Ten Commandments. They will be sent to a place called "Hell," a place where God doesn't want people to go.

21 Gospel 8 God doesn't want you to be punished.
He loves you so much that He made a way for you to be clean before Judgment Day.

22 Gospel 9 A man had a son who was really bad.
To show you what a wonderful thing God did, listen to this story. A man had a son who was really bad. He did many bad things, including lying and stealing,

23 Gospel 10 and found himself in trouble with the police. They said he had to pay a $50,000 fine or go to prison. The son didn't have any money, and was about to go to prison.

24 Gospel 11 Then his dad stepped in and used his life savings to pay his son's fine. That meant that he didn't have to go to prison. It showed how much he loved his son.

25 Gospel 12 We can live with Him forever!
We are like that son. But God came down to earth and paid our fine by dying on the Cross. Jesus took our punishment on Himself. Then He rose from the dead. That means that we don't have to be punished by God. We can live with Him forever! It also shows us how much God loves us.

26 ABC What should you do? Tell God…
A – I admit that I have sinned (that’s being honest). B – I believe that Jesus died for ALL my sin. C – I choose to trust in Jesus alone as my Savior. I now understand that the good things I do (even trying hard to obey the commandments) will not help me get to heaven. Thank you for making me a child of God and giving me eternal life so that I can go to Heaven someday! Then read your Bible every day (it's full of incredible stories -- start with the Gospel of John), and obey what you read to be happy in Jesus. God will NEVER leave you.
