Students will save their work early and often
Students will save their work early and often. Failure to save work is not an acceptable excuse for a missing assignment. Students will have options for saving their work. There will be instances where students are expected to create an account with a website to access a resource in class. Students will be responsible for remembering usernames and passwords. Failure to access an account does not excuse student from the assignment.

Students will not share their log-in or password with other students.
Students will stay on tasks at all times. Failure to do so will result in consequences, which may include loss of technology privileges, detention, referral to appropriate principal, parent contact, and could result in removal from the 21st Century Classroom. Name the following compounds: CuBr MgS CrCl3 FePO4 LiCN Write the formulas of these compounds: Sodium fluoride Manganese (III) nitrate Magnesium chloride Calcium iodide Aluminum oxide Practice Quiz: ONLY PERIODIC TABLE When done put computer up in the correct slot. Quiz to check ionic 8/29 and 8/30 don’t allow to use polyatomic ions.. Should be wake up call – do together on board..

Naming Molecular Compounds
Remember that binary molecular compounds are substances that consist of just two different elements. Nomenclature: 1) Name the first element that appears in the formula. 2) Name the second element that appears in the formula, changing its ending to –ide.
12
Naming Molecular Compounds
Greek prefixes are used to denote the number of atoms of each element present.

The prefix mono- is generally omitted for the first element.
Naming Molecular Compounds The prefix mono- is generally omitted for the first element. For ease of pronunciation, we usually eliminate the last letter of a prefix that ends in “o” or “a” when naming an oxide. Example: N2O5 is dinitrogen pentoxide not dinitrogen pentaoxide
