Know your audience If you expect your audience to respond to your posts, you must respond to their needs. Create content that engages the people who follow your page. Talk to your audience. Avoid clickbait tactics (e.g. “Like and share”).

Facebook Live Facebook Live videos see 3X the engagement of traditional videos shared on Facebook. Promote your event in advance (1 week, day before, day of). Engage with audience question and comments during the event. Remember to share your video!

Link groups to your page. Buy ads. Identify influencers and encourage them to comment on and share content.

Twitter 280 character limit started on November 7, 2017.
Only 5% of tweets sent during the test period exceeded 140 characters. Brevity is still a priority on Twitter. Engagement is key!

Twitter Algorithm It’s mostly chronological.
“Ranked tweets” and “In case you missed it” sections appear first. Media, audience engagement and user history impact ranked tweets. Takeaway: The Twitter algorithm is easier to navigate than the Facebook algorithm, but the same content succeeds on both platforms.
