Temnodontosaurus platyodon, the first ichthyosaur to be collected by Mary Anning and her brother.
A skeletal reconstruction based on two fossil skeletons, and the original illustration of the first skull given by Home (1814) [19]. Temnodontosaurus was the apex marine predator of its time, about 195 million years ago. The silhouette surrounding the skeleton is approximate.
