Great Britain is full of surprising myths and legends. I also want to tell about some of them.

Robin hood Robin Hood is the most famous English hero. He lived in Sherwood Forest in Nottingham. We all know his Merry Man. There were Merry Man in his band. People celebrate “Robin Hood’s day” on the first Sunday of May. Archers in green clothes competed in well-aimed shooting.

King Arthur The legend says Arthur was the hidden son of Uther. Uther was the king of England. When Uther died, there was no heir to the crown. The wizard, Merlin, placed a sword Excalibur in a stone, stating that whoever could pull the sword was the rightful king. Arthur pulled it out as a young man and was crowned by Merlin. Then Arthur became king.

King Arthur He married Guinevere and received a Round Table from her father. Sometime later, his best knight, Lancelot, ran away with Guinevere. Arthur followed them, leaving Mordred in charge. Mordred betrayed Arthur, which led to the final battle where both Arthur and Mordred died.

The end So, I think, the both heroes of these the most known Legends may have been real persons, but the stories, as usual, might be highly embellished.
