Each child in Nursery has their own individual portfolio called their Foundation Stage Profile. This portfolio will be built upon over the year and will include photographs, observations and the children’s work. Children are assessed using the Development Matters criteria which is broken down into curriculum areas and age bands. At the end of the year, the children will be assessed using the Early Years Curriculum.

Early Years Shepherds Year 6 pupils act as ‘Early Years Shepherds’ the shepherds will help the pupils in the dining room and support them in the playground, leading games and activities. At wet play the children support the reception children in their classroom. If pupils feel lonely or worried in the playground at lunchtime or playtimes then they are asked to wait at an area identified as the ‘Friendship Stop’. Our pupil voice act as ‘Friendship Monitors’ to ensure all children have someone to play with.
