What’s Happening in...
This week in reading, we will begin our text features and text structures unit using our StoryWorks Jr magazines. In grammar, we will begin learning about irregular verb tense.
Test Dates:
MAP Reading Test (Nichols’ Homeroom): 11/05
MAP Reading Test (Grant Homeroom): 11/06
Grammar (Irregular Verb Tense Quiz): 11/09
Vocabulary Week 5/6 Quiz: 11/16
Word Study List #7 Test: 11/16
Make sure to study vocabulary and spelling EVERY night. Students should also read at least 20 minutes each night.
Students may do a reading fair project for an EXTRA 10 points on their lowest ELA comprehension grade. Reading fair boards can be purchased in the office for $2.00.
Homework reminder
Homework packets are sent home on Mondays and due on Fridays. Study and practice vocabulary/spelling nightly.
Dates to remember
11/08: Riverboat Field Trip (Make sure to wear class t-shirts!)
11/05/11/09: Canned Food Drive (the class with the most cans donated will receive a popcorn party!)
11/14: Reading Fair Boards are due.
