Students need to choose a suitable transactional website (one which will allow them to purchase a product) to investigate. Section 2.3 of WYNTL lists what they need to cover in their report
3 back office processes they need to illustrate:
the chain of events leading up to an online purchase (eg virtual shopping basket concept)
the chain of events triggered by an online purchase (payment, despatch, delivery etc)
the resulting information flows into and out of the organisation and between departments as a result (Section 2.4 of WYNTL)
Information flow diagrams that are required can be theoretical – students don’t have to try to get information about this from the organisation whose website they have investigated
