KNOWLEDGE: Outline the structure of learning intentions at St Robert’s. SKILLS: Construct challenging learning intentions within your department. EXTENDED THINKING: Examine your own practice and experiment with learning intentions in your classroom.

Learning Intentions Implementation
Remove the language of MUST, SHOULD, COULD and ALL, MOST, SOME from learning intentions. St Robert’s model to be applied to all new lesson planning and new schemes of learning. Allows for clear progression in lessons. Allows for clear stretch and challenge for all. Clarity and consistency across the across the school. Language is Limiting

Writing Learning Intentions
KNOWLEDGE: What must the pupils know or understand? Name, state, identify, define, recall, select Describe, explain, compare, infer, interpret SKILLS: Which skill(s) must the pupils be able to use? Classify, rank, simplify, analyse, cause-effect EXTENDED THINKING: What could the most able challenge themselves to achieve? Calculate, apply, criticise, debate, disprove Increasing difficulty (Bloom)
