Inherited Trait: Example: The ability to roll your tongue upwards is an inherited trait. An inherited trait is a characteristic passed from the male and female parents to the offspring or child through genes.

Acquired Trait: An example of an acquired trait is when someone dyes their hair a different color. An acquired trait, is a trait that is developed during an organism’s lifetime and is not inherited by its offspring.

A gene is a section of D.N.A. that codes for a trait.
An example of a gene is that gene that codes for proteins that make hair color brown. A gene is a section of D.N.A. that codes for a trait.
