It is possible to switch the azobenzene unit unidirectionally by irradiation with light using a chiral clamp
Evidence for the existence of one of the enantiomer is showed both by theory and experimental method
This effect expands the range of application for azobenzene derivatives since possibilities for further substitution at C3,C4 and C5
