Properties of Fluids: Buoyancy, Pressure & Viscosity
Unit 2.3
2
What is a Fluid? Of the 3 states of Matter, which of these are a fluid?
3
Answer Liquid AND a Gas Why?
A fluid is any substance in which the particles are able to flow past each other.
4
Viscosity Viscosity- a fluid’s resistance to flow Video
Viscosity is different for different fluids because the structure of fluids differ If moving particles don’t pull others into motion, liquid has high viscosity (very thick, slow-moving liquids) If moving particles do pull others into motion, liquid has low viscosity (very thin, fast-moving liquids)
