You need to explain how the team name, the logo, and the slogan relate
These are your first choices that the review board sees – there needs to be logical explanation here

6. UAH Baseline Mission Describe the vehicles that UAH has
You can use the slides that we provided you
Tell us which vehicle you are on (and why you want to be on that one)
This doesn’t have to be finalized, but give us your best guess so far
Where do you plan on going
Planet/Moon name is NOT specific enough
This should be because of your science objective
Again, a best guess is good enough right now

7. Science Objective List the science objective (or objectives)
You don’t have to have chosen yet, but give us your top three and explain why these are of interest to you
You should answer the questions
Who cares about this science objective?
Why should they care?
How will it change our lives/perspective, etc.?

Complete the matrix
Include the science objective that has been chosen
Include the other columns, ending with the instruments you believe are needed in order to measure data to support that science objective

Remember to review what lifetime, frequency, and duration mean

10. Support Equipment Requirements
List the components/equipment that your payload needs to accomplish the mission, but are not science instruments
Example: computer, transmitter/receiver, …
Hint: use the book
Give all specifications asked in the table

11. Payload Design Requirements
List the project requirements
Describe their impact on you
List the six functional requirements
Describe their impact
DO NOT discuss any type of solution here – just give us the requirements

12. Payload Destination Tell us where your payload is going
Be as specific as possible!
Usually, there’s more than one location – list all locations and their properties
Describe the environment where you going
What’s the temperature, pressure, gravity, etc.?
Include a picture
Looks nice and gives the review board a reference
Everyone loves photos

13. Concepts
For each concept slide (there are at least 2), describe the concepts
Start with brief description (including descriptive name)
Include a figure
Can be hand-drawn
List how the concept accomplishes the 6 functional requirements
Think of this as explaining the payload’s ConOps
What does it do, to the best detail that you have

14. Alternatives List both alternatives in table
Give Positives and Negatives for both concepts
