2 Question of the Week: What obstacles do we face in our daily lives?

3 Suffixes: -ion and -less
A suffix is a meaningful word part added to the end of a word The suffix –ion means “the act or process of, the result of, or the state or condition of being” The suffix –less means “without” Base Word Suffix New Word Meaning connect -ion connection The result of being connected thought interrupt fear

4 Literary Term: Foreshadowing
Foreshadowing is the author’s use of details that hint at or provide clues about what will happen later in a story Ex: Romeo and Juliet A pair of star crossed lovers….

5 Antonyms Antonyms are the antonym of synonyms – meaning they give the opposite meaning of the word Base Word Synonym Antonym happy glad hopeless cold busy broken rainy

7 “Morning Traffic” Background
A play, or a drama A story to be written and performed for an audience The dialogue is labeled with the name of the character who is speaking Stage directions appear in italics and explain to the characters where they will move on stage
