Embroidery Embroidery is the art or handicraft of decorating fabric. It originated in the ancient Byzantine civilization. During the middle Ages and the crusades, embroidery was the first vehicle of art for the entire west. There are different types of embroidery: Segovia, pearl, beading, cross stitching and others. I can capture the beautiful paintings of famous artists like Da Vinci and Michelangelo and other people who make wonderful projects. I can also embroider the names of people on towels, for bathrooms and kitchens, baby blankets, and beautiful details on baby clothing. Embroidery is a very good hobby and also relaxing for me because everything is erased from my mind.

Embroidery: pearl in dress and shoes

My first project was at the age of eight years old, when I was in 5th grade of elementary school. This regulatory project was to move the craft field, in that time I hated sewing, but if you do not pass into the kind of craft, and finally disgust I embroider a bouquet of red roses on a black cloth and everyday Sister Maria checked me to make certain that I was working. My second time was pregnant with my third child this is where became my passion for embroidery and a third time I was motivated for my sister for us to do an exhibition in the yard the my son’s school.

The embroidery has become a passion for me, because it reflects beautiful faces, baby, landscapes, fruits, animals and others paintings. When I start a project, I cannot stop until I finished. I enjoy every step of the process of reflecting the figure of the project this fills me with great sensation. When on I see my projects finished and framed I feel very emotional.

A highlight for me was when I finalized the Mona Lisa of Da Vinci and the David of Migelangelo; these projects took me several months of work. Another special moment was the joy of my children when they saw names on the sweaters of their school uniform for their first days of school.

I hope in the not too distant future to do an exhibition and I’m actually working on in. I pretend to embroider at least 20 or 25 projects, including lodges: Angeles, fruits, landscapes, children playing and faces of famous artists. This inspiration was motivated by my friend Brenda Sloane, she is a great painter. Below I present some of my completed projects.
