3. Environmental Factors
Any factor, abiotic or biotic, that influences living organisms.
Abiotic factors: temperature, sunlight, soil, food, water, etc
Biotic: plants, animals

4. Examples of Biotic Factors an their Effects
Increased Predators: reduces the numbers of prey
Parasites: cause diseases that may slow down the growth rate of a population and/or reduces the number of organisms.
Competition: When organisms compete over nutritional resources, this could reduce the growth of a population.

5. Examples of Abiotic Factors and their Effects
Temperature: influences the distribution of plants and animals.
Animals have a clear distinction between being cold blooded or warm blooded.
Seasonal migration is seen in some animals.  
Plants cannot prevent freezing of their tissues.

6. Abiotic factors
Water is essential for life and all the biotic components of the ecosystem are directly dependent on water for survival. 
Atmospheric gases like oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide: 
All organisms require oxygen for respiration. 
Carbon dioxide is used by green plants to make food by the process of photosynthesis.
