2. Mission of PAE
Pain Alliance Europe’s (PAE) mission is to improve the quality of life of pain patients.
Our main objective is to raise awareness with politicians and policymakers, healthcare providers, employers and the general public
To make a change for the future of pain management

3. Pain affects individuals, their families, and society at large
Chronic pain costs up to €300 billion to European healthcare systems
90% of represents indirect costs such as loss of productivity, social security and welfare payments.

4. Launch of the event May 24, 2016
Venue: Annual “Societal Impact of Pain” (SIP) symposium, entitled “SIP 2016 : Time For Action!” under the patronages of Grünenthal
We imagined the powerful symbol of the red balloon being filled with pain and then released
The participants have taken pictures with a red balloon, either releasing it or bursting it to #releasethepain.
