2 Objectives of the Conference
Sharing success stories and lessons learned gathered through different employee ownership experiences by various experts and practitioners in the field of Employee Ownership. Expose representatives of Workers Trusts (Trustees), Management of IDC investee companies, Management and Trustees of private and public sector companies and Academics to some of the international best Employee Ownership models, lessons learnt and best practices;  Promote and drive the implementation of employee ownership in the South African economy; Facilitate networking between current and aspirant employee ownership practitioners.

3 Expected Outcomes of the Conference
Improved knowledge of different Employee Ownership types, models and Financing approaches. Learn about South African and international companies’ best practices with regards to employee ownership schemes. Learn more about the longer-term value add of co-ownership by workers, as opposed to mere compliance to BBBEE requirements. Gain insight into the importance of education and training in transforming people’s understanding of the concept about co-ownership and outright employee ownership. Learn how employee equity ownership schemes can contribute to company productivity, improve profitability and lead to the creation of more job opportunities. Understanding of who is best positioned to initiate or stimulate the introduction of employee ownership schemes (amongst employees or shareholders or finance institutions or government or unions).
