As N. Korean troops retreated, MacArthur pushed on to the Yalu River Mao is worried sends Peoples Lib Army into N. Korea & pushes UN troops back into S. Kor. MacArthur counterattacks but asks Truman to use A-bomb & invade China Truman refuses, “Can’t expand the war” + Soviets have bomb now MacArthur goes behind the President’s back, so Truman fires him Truman loses public support due to length of war and for firing the popular MacArthur 1953: Eisenhower becomes President Armistice agreement is signed after both sides are behind 38th parallel, no peace treaty!
