Midterm Part I Short essays: (30 minutes: 50%)
Briefly comment on the validity of five (5) of the following statements. Where possible, try to illustrate your argument with examples. In responding, you may want to indicate how invalid statements should be rephrased in order to make them valid. If you think the statement is valid, you should explain why you think it is valid. Your answers should be no more than 1-2 paragraphs (outside 3 short paragraphs) in length. Choice: 5 out of 7 Example: A distinctive feature of French politics is the presence of a large, reform-minded Communist party.
