4. Connection
On Thursday and Friday we talked about how photosynthesis and respiration are important cellular processes that rely on each other to do their jobs. Today we are going to continue to talk about these processes and how they allow energy to flow through organisms.

5. Summarizing
A summary is a shortened version of a text that highlights its key points.
Summarizing is an important skill in all subject areas, and especially in science.
When you are reading in science and seeing lots of scientific terms that are difficult to understand and there is a lot of new information, it is important to be able to know what is crucial information and what is not.
From there, you can simplify what you are reading into a summary that is easier to understand.

Let’s read the first section of the packet together, and we will write a one sentence summary of that section.
