The Route A bored tunnel crossing under the River Thames east of Gravesend and Tilbury A new road north of the river which will join the M25 between junctions 29 and 30 at North Ockendon A new road north of the river would run from a new free-flow point on the M25 between junctions 29 and 30 and connect to the tunnel via the A13 A new road south of the river which will join the A2 east of Gravesend (the Western Southern Link) 13 mile route 2 mile tunnel Anticipated to be a Toll Road Cost of up to £6.2bn Completion in 2027

Time Line 2016 – Consultation attracts 47,000 responses
2016 – Location A (a crossing alongside the existing Dartford Crossing was the preferred choice of Havering Council and the Residents’ Association) April 12th 2017 – Government Announcement of Preferred Route is Location C (route 3) 2017 to 2018 – Design, assessment & evaluation – there is still a long way to go on the detailed design Late 2018 (estimated) – formal consultation Completion
