Tools and Measurement

2. Meter: the basic unit of length in the SI (m)
Area: a measure of the size of a surface or a region.

3. Mass: a measure of the amount of matter in an object.
Measured by a balance.
Ex: grams, kilograms, etc.

4. Volume: a measure of the size of a body or region in three-dimensional space.
Ex: liter, cm³, etc.
Temperature: a measure of how hot (or cold) something is ; specifically, a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in an object.

5. Tool: anything that helps you do a task.
A spring scale measures force.

6. You would use a computer to analyze and calculate data.
The International System of Units (SI) is based on the number 10.
