17 802.11 WNG Wireless Next Generations SC
Three presentations at this meeting Continuous network discovery using Opportunistic Scanning ( ) – Marc Emmelmann Straw Poll: Should IEEE WNG receive further presentations analyzing if existing mechanisms can be used to support seamless handoff for (highly) mobile users? Result: Yes - 21; No - 0; Abstain - 4. Time-based ranging technology for IEEE ( ) – Dong Kyoo Kim IEEE for High Speed Mobility ( ) – Hiroki Nakano Does WNG think that we need further presentations exploring the need for support for mobile communication. Result: Yes - 25; No - 0; Need More Discussion - 3; Don’t Care - 1. Clint Chaplin

18 JTC1/SC6 Ad-Hoc ISO/IEC JTC1/SC6
Chinese National Body has submitted WAPI to JTC1 for balloting. The Ad-Hoc reviewed, revised, and approved a letter from IEEE to ISO/IEC JTC1/SC6 stating the plans of IEEE to submit documents to JTC1/SC^ through the PSDO process. The Ad-Hoc reviewed, revised, and approved a letter that will be sent from Paul Nikolich (representing IEEE 802) to ISO/IEC JTC1 rebutting claims in the Chinese WAPI submission. The PSDO will probably not be changed, and in fact it will be extended to cover all SCs in JTC1. Andrew Myles
