What Is a Stereotype? a widely held but fixed and oversimplified often over exaggerated image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. Where do we see stereotypes? Where do you think they come from?

Prejudice Stereotypes are not so bad, until you pre-judge someone and react according to your pre-judgement Prejudice: preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. When we actively respond to stereotypes we become prejudice Ex: avoiding select groups like “abnormal” fruit

Power Prejudice isn’t very harmful until a power struggle is established. Power: the ability to do something or act in a particular way; agency Agency: the ability to make your own free choices, to act independently Social Power: the authority to control the self, goals, and often others

But without conflict, what would the world be like? Political Correctness PC = Nothing gets done Without there will never be resolution But do so in safe spaces (i.e. classroom & literature)
