2 What is an informational report?
An informational report provides facts and descriptions about a subject. It begins with a general idea and is followed by supporting details.

3 Let’s read an informational report together.

4 Title The title tells us what the report is about. Title

5 Introduction The introduction is the beginning of the report. It tells us some general information about the subject. Introduction We usually write the introduction using the simple present tense.

6 Photo / Picture The photo or picture gives us a clearer picture of what the subject is actually like. It sometimes includes a caption. Picture

7 Body The body includes more facts and details about the subject.
We generally write the body using the simple present tense.

8 Supporting information
Body paragraph Each body paragraph is made up of a main idea and supporting details. The topic sentence tells us the main idea of the paragraph. The other sentences offers more information about the main idea. Topic sentence Supporting information

9 Conclusion The conclusion is the ending of the report and it sums up the report. Conclusion
