5. Editing Challenge
You will be placed in groups of three. Within those groups, you will select one person to be a GRAMMAR GURU, an MLA MASTER, and an EVIDENCE EDUCATOR.

6. Grammar Guru
Your job is to GUARANTEE that there are no fused sentences or comma splices in both your peers’ as well as your own essay. You also need to locate TWO COMPLEX sentences and THREE COMPOUND sentences. Use yesterday’s handout as a guide.

7. MLA Master
Your job is to GUARANTEE that there are no MLA errors in formatting. Use last trimester’s handout to guide you. BE PICKY. You know I am 

8. Evidence Educator
Your job is to GUARANTEE that the essay includes a story that explains WHY the belief exists, as well as double-checking that each body paragraph begins with a story that explains the effect of having that belief; in other words, now that this person has this belief, how has that changed their life? I’ll be taking a look at the conclusion paragraphs, so don’t worry too much about those!

9. Homework Make ALL necessary edits to your essay
Read through your essay fully three times:
Once silently, paragraph-by-paragraph
Once out loud, reading each word as it is written
Have a parent/sibling/friend read it, too
Make sure your essay is typed, printed TWICE (you will need two copies), and in MLA format
Bring in your final essays and any other work you did concerning the essay
If you changed topics midway through the brainstorming process, indicate that on the brainstorming sheets!
