High availability for any smart network
Enterprise Resiliency Long Distance Resiliency Ring Resiliency Disaster Recovery
5
High Availability – VCStack in action
Virtual MAC Fast Failover Resiliency Link High Speed Dedicated ports Rolling reboot Stack Trigger Pre-provisioning Copper and Fiber LAG LAG LAG Once started the traffic go through all the link in the system and between the access and the core use a LAG link Pressing the destroy button we simulate the failure of a whole switch, but the same happens if instead of the switch a link in on of the LAG is broken. VCStack understand that one of the path is not usable and divert the traffic on the available link. As the result the service is not affected, the performances decrease but the system still work as before Pressing the recovery button we see that the traffic go back as in the original configuration Thia ia the main feature, an on the right are listed all the other features that permits to the VCStack to afford any failure conditions

EPSR – In Action Failover less than 50ms Data VLAN Control VLAN
EPSR by default block one of the link in the ring for the data traffic but still use it for the control packets. In this example the right part of the ring is blocked The packets transit between all the nodes using the rest of the ring Once we press destroy we simulate one of the link that is broken The system in less than 50 ms reactivate the blocked link and the traffic is diverted on this link One the failure is solved the link come back to work as in the beginning 6

Manage the complexity Networks come in all shapes and sizes
Data Centers, Private Clouds, small networks, large networks…all have different management needs Star Topology Wide Area Topology Ring Topology Flexible, intelligent solutions are required Complex network topologies require specialized management processes Looking a network in detail from the automation pint of view, it easy to see that one of the reason for the high percentage of cost in personnel is a direct consequence of network complexity- Networks come in different size and different topology and manage the complexity is always expensive.

Multi Site installation requires skilled IT manager on site
Legacy network system Local site IT administrator Local site IT administrator Local site IT administrator Head office IT administrator Considering as an example network with an headquarter (on the left) and other offices in different locations around a wide area that could be a campus or also a city. To guarantee the right support in any the remote office it is mandatory to dedicate a resource to manage the network and to support in case of problems. Especially when the remote site is huge and far from the headquarter is not possible to relay on centralize resources to support and resolve local problems. This impact the operating costs

AMF basic architecture
master virtual nodes UP TO 300 MEMBERS master AMF has been developed with the flexibility in mind. The architecture is based on two main elements: AMF node that is the local agent within the device able to implement all the command received AMF master in charge of control and communication with all the node part of the same AMF network To add flexibility to the whole system AMF master can be a task running within the Allied Telesis devices (Switch or router) or as a virtual instance deployed within a private or public cloud. Each AMF master is able to manage up to 300 nodes where a node is a single switch or any group of stacked switches. This means that in a typical network 300 nodes are much more that 300 switches. To easily communicate with multiple nodes at the same time AMF nodes are arranged in groups according to the model, the position, the building, or any other logical division and each device can be part of different group at the first time. Following this approach it is easy to communicate with all the devices at with same model number, the same building or with all the devices located in the access and so on
