He Is Risen! He is risen indeed!
We live and die; Christ died and lived! John Stott April 21, 2019 He is risen indeed!

Matthew 28:1-10

Daniel 7:13-14 I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.

Revelation 5:1-14 and 19:11-16

Colossians 1:15-20

Hebrews 1:1-4 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, Whom He appointed the Heir of all things, through Whom also He created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name He has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

Colossians 2:13-15 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This He set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in Him.

Luke 22:52-53 Then Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders, who had come out against Him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs? When I was with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is your hour, and (that of) the power of darkness.”

Matthew 26:33-35 Peter answered him, “Though they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away.” Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” Peter said to Him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you!” And all the disciples said the same.

Luke 22:61-62 And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how He had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.

Mark 16:7 But go, tell His disciples and Peter that He is going before you to Galilee. There you will see Him, just as He told you.

Luke 24:33-34 And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

For Our Consideration If you have failed in some way, how do you move to a place of recovery and victory? If Jesus is risen and is the King and Lord of all, how should we face each day in His service? How does our view of death impact our daily lives? If God can forgive you because of the blood of Jesus, can you forgive yourself and others?

Prayer Focus Thank You Father for salvation through the sacrifice of Your Son Jesus. Thank You for the promise of eternal life which is guaranteed because of the Resurrection. Thank You for Your Word to instruct us and provide such hope and joy.
