3. Why CMCHIS in PHC ??? Total Block population 160000
Block has 60 KM length seashore area along this length 5 KM inwards Palm Trees are there people who Taper Palm trees live among this places in Temporary shed for 6 Months.
So Very remote, hard to reach areas are many
College level education centres are 2 only that too opened recently
So decreased Literacy rate and Inaccessible areas made few ANCs to come for centre in late stage of labour which made delivered babies under Sepsis and Respiratory distress

4. CMCHIS First under Public Health side

We need to give High level Quality care to Maternal and Child health.
With full support of District Collector, Ramanathapuram this Public Health centre was empanelled as first PHC in the state under CMCHIS on October 2013
CMCHIS markedly reduced IMR in our Centre because 20-30% newborns who expose to risks like sepsis and distress are successfully treated with high level Investigations and Treatment.

CMCHIS contributed a lot in obtaining Best maintained PHC for the year 2015 by our DPH

6. Improvements of PHC under CMCHIS
Anaesthetist from other HUD is being provided with vehicle and hired for Surgical procedures.
3 Staff Nurses and 2 Sanitary workers are posted under the scheme
Obstetrician is also hired on needy basis.
To improve OT performance, we needed following things
1)Boyle’s Apparatus
2)More number of Pulse oxymeters
3)More number of Warmer
These have been purchased under CMCHIS Fund.
Purchase of Surgical, Minor instruments and Consumables for Rs.30,000- Rs.40000/ month
