Ex. He is as strong as an ox
Ex. The tear came out of my eyes like a waterfall

4. Metaphor Comparing without using “like” or “as”
Ex. Steven was a pig at dinner.
Ex. The classroom was a zoo.

5. Hyperbole Extreme exaggeration Ex. I’m so hungry I could eat a horse!
Ex. I’ve told you to clean your room a million times!

6. Personification Giving human characteristics to non-human things
Ex. Lightning danced across the sky
Ex. My alarm clock yells at me every morning
