Methodological Help Subcontracted to LANDSIS
Various versions of the Glossary were produced A 2 day Workshop in Paris was organised Help in estimation techniques is offered The final country report should provide an exhaustive description of methods used for estimation

Data Flow Subcontracted to GHK
Further data welcome until the end of 2003 Currently a thorough validation takes place Updates / revisions should be separated from new data Data should refer to the reference year 2001 or years around ( )

National Data Subcontracted to Revolux
Around half the variables of the variable list could be found in NewCronos and loaded into the database Eurostat will receive a list of still missing variables for each country. This will be sent to the RESCO, asking to fill the gap Candidate countries included

Candidate Countries All core cities and most LUZ and SCD have been defined Population data has been sent as test First wave of data flow should be terminated end of 2003 Countries are optimistic to fulfil this goal

Future focus of DG REGIO
Sustainable development based on Göteborg summit, focus on waste management, energy use, land use, transport Knowledge Economy educational profiles, jobs in the IT sector Demographic Profiles pensioners, children, foreigners, lone person households Services what attracts citizens to their city? For example health services, entertainment, universities Local Administration employment, national legislation, political influence of local governance, best practice
