Mega Machines– Year 4 Homework Project 1 – Due in Friday 1st December
Starters Main Courses Desserts Reading Please ensure that you spend the equivalent of 10 minutes a day, reading your school reading book and other suitable books of your own choice. Become an inventor! Can you think of a machine which would make your life easier? Maybe a machine to help get you dressed in a morning or one that does your mum’s ironing. Create a labelled design and then use junk to create a model of your machine. Draw a map Draw a map of the world to show where some key inventions or mega machines came from. Research How trains have changed over time. The evolution of different train lines. What train transport is like in different countries. Underground trains. Number Zumba Please ensure that you spend the equivalent of 10 minutes a day practicing your rapid recall facts for your test on a Thursday. Create a timeline Create a timeline to show the key dates in the history when mega machines were invented. Become an author! Write a story about a robot going on an adventure, solving a mystery or visiting a fairy tale land. Describe the setting and characters using a range of noun phrases. Sequence and group events into paragraphs. Think about how to present your story. You could even make your story into a book with illustrations! Spellings Please ensure that you spend the equivalent of 10 minutes a day practicing your spellings for your weekly test on a Thursday. Create a photo album Use images from the internet to show your favourite machines. You could research how cars have developed through time or a collection of machines used on building sites. Annotate each picture (in your own words) to explain what each picture shows. Please record all homework completed in your homework diary. Ask an adult to sign your diary every Thursday evening.
