4 The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna(PMGSY) aims to provide the facility of all weather roads to all the villages by March 2019. Bhratmala Pariyojna is a new umbrella program for the highway sector. The project aimed at integrating many other schemes ,projects and programs to cover km of roads and bridges. Development of 7000km state road along coastal areas, border areas with special focus on connectivity of non –major ports, roads for backward areas, religious and tourist places Phase-I of the project is being implemented over a five year period of to with an estimated cost of Rs 5,35,000 crore .
